I will admit that my mind is not fully on baseball today. As a Skol-a-holic, I am eagerly anticipating the Minnesota Vikings opening up their 2026 campaign by hosting the rival Green Bay Packers.
For the vast majority of Minnesota sports history, the Twins and Vikings shared a home—first Metropolitan Stadium, then the Metrodome. While the Twins of course moved to their current digs in 2010, the Purple hung on under the Teflon ceiling through 2013 before breaking into the (U.S.) Bank.
But here’s two
things that will hurt your brain a little bit about the current Twins & Vikings setups:
Target Field can proffer the pigskin!
U.S. Bank Stadium can handle the hardball!
I feel like once a year, the Twins should have a scheduled game at The Bank to preserve the memory of the Dome (and be playing on those most hallowed of grounds!). Bring back the Hormel Row of Fame & Dodge Ball!!
