The Philadelphia Eagles issued their first injury report of the week on Thursday in advance of their Week 7 Monday Night Football game against the Dallas Cowboys.
The Eagles listed six players under DID NOT PARTICIPATE: DeVonta Smith, Dontayvion Wicks, Dallas Goedert, Nolan Smith, Willie Lampkin, and Michael Carter II.
DeVonta also missed the first practice of last week before being progressively being ramped up over the next two days. We’ll see if him and/or Wicks follow that pattern this week. If
not, the Eagles will sure be short-handed at receiver. DeVonta is still listed with a hamstring injury while Wicks is newly listed with an ankle injury after previously missing practice time due to a hamstring injury of his own.
Goedert missed practice due to a knee injury. Unclear if it’s the same one that previously caused him to miss time. One would assume so. With the Eagles waiving E.J. Jenkins, Johnny Mundt is currently the only healthy tight end on the active roster. But the Eagles could look to sign Zach Ertz from the practice squad … and/or activate fan favorite Grant Calcaterra and/or rookie Eli Stowers from injured reserve.
Smith missed practice due to the concussion he suffered in Week 6. He’s in danger of missing at least one game.
Lampkin missed practice due to illness. Assuming it’s not something serious, he should be available to dress for the game this week.
MC2 was seen doing some rehab work on a side field, which seems like an upgrade from last week. But he’s still not practicing. Maybe next week is in play for him.
The Eagles listed eight players under LIMITED PARTICIPATION: Saquon Barkley, Landon Dickerson, Jalyx Hunt, Jonathan Greenard, Drew Kendall, Tyler Steen, Moro Ojomo, and A.J. Epenesa.
Barkley is reportedly “in line” to play for the first time since suffering a hamstring injury in Week 4. But how he progresses over the next two days will be key. Guessing he’ll at least try to suit up but we’ll have to see if he can manage to hold up over the course of the game.
Dickerson has only been limited in practice since the Eagles opened his 21-day practice window to return from injured reserve. Seems unlikely to me that he plays until he fully participates in a practice first. Also, he’s now being listed with both “knee/pectoral” injuries after previously only being listed with the knee last week.
Hunt returning to practice this soon after watching him go down with a scary injury in Week 5 is encouraging. Hunt wouldn’t tell reporters if he’s going to play on Monday but it seems like there’s a chance. If not then, perhaps Week 8.
Greenard was on a pitch count in Week 7 as he plays through a nagging ankle injury. Guessing he’ll try to suit up again but he’s hardly 100%.
Kendall might be able to return to the starting lineup this week; the Eagles kept him active as an emergency backup option in Week 6. But he’ll probably need to get at least one full practice in before playing center.
Steen suffered a shoulder injury in Week 5. The Eagles seem to be managing their starting right guard to help get him to Monday.
Ojomo got banged up in Week 6. Guessing he’ll play but he might see a smaller workload than usual.
Epenesa missed Week 6 due to a back injury. We’ll see if he’s able to play on Monday. With the edge rusher rotation banged up, they could use him out there.
The Eagles listed 10 players under FULL PARTICIPATION: Zack Baun, Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Arnold Ebiketie, Jihaad Campbell, Britain Covey, Grant Calcaterra, Eli Stowers, Jakorian Bennett, and Hollywood Brown.
Notable from this section:
- Davis was full go after having to be helped off the field on Sunday. Great to see he’ll be able to play on Monday.
- Campbell had “knee” removed from his injury description. Now just “wrist.”
- Covey is a new addition to the report with a shoulder injury.
- Calcaterra was limited in the first two practices last week before going full on Friday. He was full again today, which could point to the Eagles activating him from injured reserve for Monday’s game. Feel the excitement!

DALLAS COWBOYS INJURY REPORT (THURSDAY)
The Cowboys listed four players under DID NOT PARTICIPATE: starting off-ball linebacker Dee Winters, All-Pro returner KaVontae Turpin, veteran edge rusher Von Miller, and depth tackle Drew Shelton.
Winters got banged up in Week 6. The Cowboys’ defense already isn’t very good, so, it doesn’t seem great for them that they could be missing a player who’s actually been good for them this season. Then again, it looks like they’re getting DeMarvion Overshown back this week.
Turpin, one of the better returners in the NFL, is also in danger of missing this week’s game.
Miller was resting and the rookie Shelton doesn’t play much anyway.
The Cowboys listed four players under LIMITED PARTICIPATION: starting wide receiver George Pickens, starting cornerback Cobie Durant, starting left tackle Tyler Guyton, and edge rusher Marist Liufau.
Pickes is a new addition to the report after apparently getting banged up in Week 6.
Durant could potentially return to the starting lineup for the first time since getting hurt in Week 2.
Guyton was listed on the Cowboys’ report as a full participant with a back injury last week. Apparently he injured his calf in Week 6.
Liufau is participating in practice while in his 21-day window to return from injured reserve.
