Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund is ready to see Jamal Musiala back on the pitch with his team, but also knows the youngster’s recovery is at the forefront of everything.
When Musiala is ready to return, Freund thinks it will be a seamless transition.
“First of all, I’m extremely happy that he’s on the right track. He’s doing quite well. He’ll start training with the ball again in the next few weeks. The most important thing is that he’s on the right track. I’m incredibly excited for
him to be back on the pitch, as is the rest of the team. He’s an exceptional player, a game-changer, and he’ll be a real asset to the team. In the summer, we discussed how we would manage it without Jamal – now suddenly he’s not supposed to strengthen our team anymore? No, he will have his place in the team because he’s simply an exceptional player for us,” Freund told Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Musiala’s health is going to be key. He will need to be both physically and mentally ready to return — and even then he might need more time. One thing is certain, he will be a welcomed addition when this happens.
