Missouri’s offensive line was a bit shaky in the season-opener against Central Arkansas which led to being a cause for concern. Nathan Hurst wrote that the unit needs to improve, and fast.
The first game is behind us and the offensive line hasn’t answered (positively at least) the questions all Tiger fans and coaches had coming into the year. However, progress isn’t linear and a big improvement could be just around the corner. Hopefully just in time for the beakers to get trounced on Faurot this Saturday.
Cutting down on holding and false start penalties will be a necessity come Saturday. And with the injury to Sam Horn— protecting Beau Pribula becomes even more important and sacks will need to be limited. So, it’s safe to say that players at the position will need to step it up.
In this week’s SB Nation Reacts survey, we asked which offensive lineman needs to improve the most heading into Week 2 — and Cayden Green was the popular pick.

Green wasn’t at his best after moving from guard to tackle. He was called for a holding penalty and allowed a sack on Pribula in the first half.
But Green was named a preseason All-American for a reason. The talent is still there.
Here’s hoping Green will be a factor on Saturday. Mizzou will need him to.
