Sounds great on paper, but MVP had no active MMA roster and PFL had one that nobody watched. Probably because the world’s best fighters are all signed to UFC and the few stragglers who managed to escape (or get jettisoned) from the TKO mothership are either old, broken down, or one bottle away from another mug shot.
Should UFC be worried?

merging with PFL probably hurts Scott Coker more than it does UFC. I would say GFL will also suffer but those bumbling idiots are likely to self destruct regardless of what other promotions are in play. The new-look MVP is expected to launch in early 2027, though a streaming partner has yet to be determined.
Can it succeed where Affliction MMA, EliteXC, and Strikeforce failed?
Paul has a long history of antagonizing UFC CEO Dana White and claims to have disrupted the boxing industry. While he certainly paved the way for more pointless boxing events (like this one), the one chance Paul had at truly disrupting the “sweet science” ended with “El Gallo” getting played like a rusty trombone.
UFC, meanwhile, is sitting on more than $7 billion in profit following its landmark deal with Paramount.
