You only get one Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut!
Two athletes debuted in “Sin City” last night (Sat., Oct. 4, 2025) at UFC 320 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The two went 1-1,
with one of them getting knocked out in less than two minutes
Now that the dust has settled, let’s grade their performances below:

Jakub Wiklacz
Jakub Wiklacz handed former Bellator champion Patchy Mix his second straight UFC loss, earning a split-decision win that was a lot messier than it needed to be.
Primarily known for his grappling, Wiklacz surprisingly showcased some crisp striking early on — landing stiff jabs, clean one-twos, and solid body kicks that visibly bothered Mix. His timing and distance control looked improved, and for a moment, it seemed like he was going to cruise.
Then his fight IQ went out the window.
Wiklacz repeatedly jumped for guillotines — what felt like a dozen times — and none of them were remotely close. Each failed attempt gave Mix top control and time to stall. When Wiklacz stayed upright, he was clearly the better fighter, but he just couldn’t help himself from chasing submissions that weren’t there.
To his credit, Wiklacz did show solid reversal skills, even managing to mount Mix briefly and scramble to his feet when needed. But by Round 3, he was outwrestled and gave away key moments that made the scorecards uncomfortably close.
It’s tough to grade this one. Wiklacz beat Mix, but Mix has looked flat in his UFC run so far. Still, the Polish prospect showed enough tools and toughness to warrant an above-passing mark — even if fans aren’t exactly begging to see him again right away.
A fight with Colby Thicknesse in Australia next year would be interesting.
Final Grade: B-

Tre’ston Vines
Tre’son Vines didn’t get much of a chance to show what he can do. The Alabama native’s UFC debut lasted less than two minutes, as he was brutally stopped by rising top Middleweight prospect Ateba Gautier via knockout (watch highlights).
To be fair, Vines deserves credit for stepping up on just four days’ notice — but let’s call it what it was: a lamb being fed to a T. rex, Jurassic Park-style. Gautier was faster, sharper, and far more dangerous from the opening bell, and the result felt inevitable the moment the fight started.
There’s not much to take away from this performance beyond the fact that Vines showed up when the promotion needed him. He got bodied, plain and simple.
Still, the UFC tends to reward fighters who do them a favor, especially late replacements, so don’t be surprised if Vines gets another shot inside the Octagon.
A matchup against Eric Nolan for his sophomore outing makes a lot of sense.
Final Grade: F
