The Pittsburgh Steelers lose another one of their own on the first day of the NFL’s legal tampering period, as offensive guard Isaac Seumalo has signed a lucrative new deal with the Arizona Cardinals.
As reported by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Seumalo’s new deal is for three years and is worth $31.5 million dollars.
The former Steelers guard signed with Pittsburgh in 2023 on a three-year deal worth $24 million dollars, so this new deal is actually a raise for Seumalo in terms of total cash value on his contract.
Seuamlo was a big-ticket signing for the Steelers back in 2023, who were at the time desperately trying to support their young quarterback, Kenny Pickett. Seumalo gave the Steelers several strong years of play, and now the Steelers’ offensive line, which seemed to be turning the corner during the back half of last season, will have a new face starting week one.
Seumalo is on the older side at 32 years old, but he proved last year that he still has some quality play in him. He allowed the lowest pressure rate among all guards last season despite battling through several injuries throughout the season. He will now get a chance to start fresh with a new contract in the NFC West.
