In order for the Orioles to finish above .500, they need to win every game remaining on their schedule. That’s a tall task, but they have been pretty good in September, and the White Sox aren’t the toughest opponent. Still, it probably ain’t happening. Another win tonight would clinch at least a series win.
Dean Kremer is back on the bump for the first time in 11 days. He was skipped last time through the rotation due to forearm discomfort. But after a bullpen over the weekend it seems like he is cleared
to make the start here. You would imagine that Tony Mansolino probably won’t push him too much. They need Kremer to head into the offseason healthy. That is more important than any sort of statistics he can put on paper tonight.
Jordan Westburg is back from the IL, making his first appearance since August 18. He will DH tonight as the O‘s ease him back into things. In order to make room for him, Emmanuel Rivera was DFA’d.
The other roster move of the day saw Grant Wolfram optioned to Triple-A so that the recently-claimed José Castillo could be activated. At this point, the Orioles just need fresh arms, especially if Kremer is on a strict pitch count tonight.
