With the very unfortunate loss of the Miami Dolphins’ best player, De’Von Achane, to a season-ending ACL tear, I asked the following question, this past week:
Who would you consider the Miami Dolphins best overall player on the current active roster, and why?
Below are some of your thougths and answers-
StanleyDoyle1 believes the LB from TT may already be one of the best players on the team.
As far as productivity and impact, I think you have to go with Rodriguez.
Phoenix6 says it’s got to be Chop.
Who

Following De’Von Achane’s unfortunate torn ACL in Wk 3 of the ’26 season, starting center Aaron Brewer & edge rusher Chop Robinson have emerged as the team’s top foundational & most impactful players on the active roster.
With Achane sidelined during this rebuilding year, leadership & performance mantle shifts to key pillars in the trenches.
Jptapt selected Aaron Brewer… so I’m going with Chop Robinson. Many rank him as the team’s most important foundational piece & breakout defensive cornerstone. I do too!
Miami7 says it’s those two LBs in the middle.
The law firm of Brooks & Roderiguez…who, at the moment, has elevated the young’n Roderiguez to ‘lead’ the defense (and this vote).
PPaul & Brewer are on the table (which is pretty sad actually [when OLmen are perceived as ‘best’], but the rise of JRod shows immense upward distinction.
sdphinsfan is going with a rookie LB and a veteran OL, both clearly building blocks for our future.
Rodriguez gets my vote. Brewer is also a solid choice.
heatforlife is very much down on a rookie in the secondary.
ill tell u whos the worst of the 22 salt water taffe not an nfl player.juk was impressed with him cause cousins threw the ball right to him.2nd best player no clear cut player.its sad times in dolphins land.is malik the guy only thing im interested in this year.
PA phinphan thinks it could be PP.

Patrick Paul might be the most consistent at least looking at PFF grades. I don’t know if that makes the best but I’d say he’s pretty darn good.
Dolphster might not be paying much attention to the product on the field this season.
My favorite member of the Dolphins organization is now the blonde cheerleader, Sarah.
As usual, there’s no consensus, but quite a few of you pointed to rookie linebacker Jacob Rodriguez as that guy, and I think a lot of us hope he can be that guy for years to come. Thank you, as always, to everyone who took the time to answer our question of the day. Please join us tomorrow evening for our weekly Victory Of The Week post.
