Barcelona have offered an encouraging update on Dani Olmo’s fitness after the Spain star returned to the club early from international duty and underwent further tests.
Olmo has been diagnosed with a calf problem but no tear has been found and it therefore does not appear to be a serious injury for the 27-year-old.
Here’s the club’s update:
“The first team player Dani Olmo has a muscle injury in his left calf, without connective tissue involvement. The recovery time will be dictated by his progress,”
read a club statement.
Early reports estimate that Olmo will miss the next two to three weeks of action for Barcelona, meaning he will not available to face Girona in La Liga or Olympiacos in the Champions League.
Olmo is also expected to sit out El Clasico against Real Madrid on October 26th but could return in time to face Elche at the start of November.
