The Kansas City Chiefs have released their list of inactive players for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Rookie wide receiver Jalen Royals (knee) will not dress for the Super Bowl LIX rematch. Neither will wide receiver Xavier Worthy (shoulder), tight end Jared Wiley, running back Elijah Mitchell, offensive lineman Hunter Nourzad and defensive end Malik Herring.
After being held out of all three
of last week’s practices, Royals was declared out in Friday’s final injury report. Worthy was limited on both Thursday and Friday before being listed as doubtful for this game.
Speaking with reporters on Friday, head coach Andy Reid described Worthy’s chance to play against Philadelphia as “slim.” On game day, NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport reported that Worthy was “looking good” to play in Kansas City’s Week 3 game against the New York Giants, although he will wear a harness to protect his dislocated shoulder and torn labrum.
After being inactive with an injured ankle for the Week 1 game against the Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil, rookie defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott will be making his NFL debut on Sunday.
On Saturday, Kansas City elevated practice squad defensive back Kevin Knowles to the active roster. As an elevated players he will automatically be returned to the team’s practice squad after the game. He is active for the contest.
The Eagles have also released their list of inactives.
As expected, tight end Dallas Goedert (knee), running back Will Shipley (oblique) and tackle Cameron Williams (shoulder) will miss the game in Kansas City. So will quarterback Tanner McKee (right thumb), along with linebacker Azeez Ojulari, linebacker Ogbo Okoronkwo and offensive lineman Drew Kendall
On Friday, Goedert, Shipley and Williams were all declared out of the matchup with the Chiefs game, while McKee was listed as questionable.
The Eagles have elevated defensive back Marcus Epps and tight end Cameron Latu for the matchup. Both will dress for the game.
