The Athletics won bog yesterday in the series opener in St. Louis. Now the club will try to win their second in a row and secure the series against the Cardinals in the middle game of the series tonight.
Taking the ball for the A’s will be veteran Luis Severino, who is making his return from the injured list. He’s missed three starts but didn’t need a rehab assignment and is instead jumping right back into his spot among the starting five. Hopefully his return is a triumphant one and the beginning
of a strong end to his season.
The lineup tonight:
Nick Kurtz finally returns to the starting lineup and he’ll hit lead off for the squad tonight. Every other regular starter is in there tonight and JJ Bleday will man right field for tonight’s game.
The Cardinals will counter Severino with their own veteran righty in Miles Mikolas. Now in his 10th major league season (and 13th season including three years overseas), Mikolas has been an innings eater for St. Louis but has struggled to keep the runs down, posting a 5.04 ERA across 26 starts.
The Cardinals’ lineup for tonight’s contest:
We can secure the series win with a victory tonight. Let’s go A’s!
