After a deflating 2-2 draw in the Women’s Champions League against Manchester City, Bayern Munich is back at it again, this time in the women’s edition of the DFB-Pokal.
The Bavarians are the cup holders, while Gladbach is a side languishing in the bottom half of the second flight in Germany. However, Bayern is taking nothing for granted.
“I played against Gladbach quite a few times myself – back when they were in the Bundesliga,” said Bayern midfielder Sarah Zadrazil in pre-match comments captured
by FCBayern.com. “Now we’re in for a real cup battle in a big stadium, which will be a special setting for us. We know we’re the favorites. We want to live up to that expectation and give it our all. Our aim is clear: we want to make it back to Cologne again this year.”
