The New England Patriots have downgraded safeties Craig Woodson (shoulder) and Dell Pettus (ankle) and tight end Eli Raridon (thigh) to out for the remainder of Sunday’s game.
In the secondary, Pettus suffered an ankle injury on special teams in the first half before Woodson spent time in the blue medical tent for a shoulder injury in the second half. With the duo sidelined, Jaylen Reed, who was acquired in the Kayshon Boutte trade, filled in at safety next to veteran Kevin Byard.
As for Raridon, the
rookie tight end departed with a thigh injury in the second quarter. He finished the game with one catch for 30 yards.
New England entered Sunday’s game with just three tight ends on the active roster as Tanner Arkin was inactive. Raridon’s departure left just tight ends Hunter Henry and Cameron Latu, who was recently claimed off of waiver during roster cutdown, available to finish the game.
The injuries piled up for New England in Week 2, as the team also ruled out Mike Onwenu (ankle) and Dre’Mont Jones (shoulder) earlier in the contest.
