The TCU Horned Frogs have advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the fourth consecutive season. Behind a team-best 19 kills on a .308 hitting percentage from outside hitter Evan Hendrix,
who eclipsed 500 kills for her season, TCU took down Stephen F. Austin in three sets during first-round action in College Station on Friday evening. Outside hitter Becca Kelley added 10 kills for the Horned Frogs (21-10, 10-8 Big 12), who beat the Lumberjacks 25-8, 26-24, 25-20 and will advance to face Texas A&M at 7 p.m. Saturday evening.
Alice Volpe anchored the back-row defense with a team-leading 20 digs for the Horned Frogs, who posted five aces and committed just three service errors in the win. Ella Foti earned a double-double at the setter position, totaling 20 assists and 13 digs to pace the TCU attack. Rosemary Archer chipped in 10 assists for the Horned Frogs, who hit .302 as a team and held SFA to a .111 hitting percentage. TCU turned in eight blocks and had just one receiving error. The Horned Frogs capitalized on five SFA receiving errors and seven SFA service errors.
