On Wednesday, the Chicago Bears opened the 21-day practice window for starting nickleback Kyler Gordon, who was placed on injured reserve on October 25 with a calf injury. He’ll now be able to practice with the team
while they determine if he’s ready to return to the active roster.
Gordon’s window was opened just five days after the window was opened for fellow defenisve back, Jaylon Johnson, who is coming back from a groin injury.
With Gordon and Johnson presumably due back soon, that will be a big boost for a pass defense that has struggled most of the season. The Bears signed Gordon to a contract extension earlier this year, and defenisve coordinator Dennis Allen talked about plans for his versatility, while Johnson is coming off a second consecutive Pro Bowl season. Johnson has two tackles this year after playing in just one game, and Gordon has six tackles and a sack in two games.
Both players were limited at today’s practice, with teh full Wednesday injury report available here.
