We’ve had a day to digest the mostly indigestible Seattle Seahawks preseason finale against the Green Bay Packers. It wasn’t an ideal starting debut for rookie quarterback Jalen Milroe, who was under siege frequently and also lost three fumbles, but he did throw a touchdown to Cody White and had other good plays throughout the game. There was also a major injury scare when Jake Bobo suffered a concussion on a punt return, but it sounds like it’s not as bad as it could’ve been.
Next up for the Seahawks
is cutting the roster down to 53 players. Who stays, who goes, and will there be any surprise moves coming from Seattle over the next couple of days?
As promised in our announcement on Saturday, Field Gulls will have post-game live shows; during the regular season the goal is to have the post-game live shows be the day of the game. Join myself and Bryce Coutts live on Sunday, Aug. 24 at 7:30 pm PT on Bryce’s newly launched The Hawks Eye podcast for our takeaways from the Packers game, as well as our final Seahawks 53-man roster projection ahead of Tuesday’s cutdown deadline.
While you’re here, also check out Bryce’s new series with Seahawks Forever’s Dan Viens, Hawks Film Lab, which provides an All-22 look at Seahawks plays. The inaugural episode focuses on the opening two offensive drives by the Seahawks against the Kansas City Chiefs, with special emphasis on the interior offensive line. We’d place the video embed in here but the dreaded “This video contains content from NFL, who has blocked it from display on this website of application” alert has come up, so just click the video link here.
If you can’t make the live stream, no worries! The show is available on-demand in the video player below.

Also don’t forget on Wednesday, Aug. 27 at 5 pm PT we’ll have the inaugural edition of The Seahawks Syndicate, with myself, Bryce, Dan, and Brandon Cain of The Hawk’s Nest to recap and react to Seattle’s roster decisions and (if its formed in time) initial practice squad.
