More reminders that we don’t have weight classes in sumo. Here’s Fujinokawa vs. Kotozakura in the makuuchi (top division). This happened on Sunday night.
And here’s Enho vs. Kagayaki in the juryo (second division). This happened last night.
Something interesting for US folks who are getting tempted by all this sumo stuff. One of the new entrants to the Grand Sumo system during this tournament was Masahiro Sunada. He’s American! And a Hawaii state
high school wrestling champ.
