Denver Summit FC announced a contract extension with rookie midfielder Devin Lynch that will extend through the 2028 NWSL season. Lynch was originally signed to the Summit on a one-year contract through 2026, but will now also have a mutual option for 2029.
“I’m incredibly excited to continue playing in Denver and for such incredible fans,” Summit midfielder Devin Lynch said. “I’m grateful for the trust the club has placed in me, and I’m excited to keep building something special alongside my teammates.
I can’t wait to see what we accomplish together.”
The midfielder spent four years at Duke University making 81 appearances with 13 goals and helped the Blue Devils reach the NCAA tournament quarterfinals once and the semifinals twice. In the NWSL Lynch has started in every match for the Summit in 2026, and is third on the expansion club in minutes played in 14 matches.
“[Lynch] brings an unmatched level of drive, professionalism and competitiveness that pushes this team to new levels.” Head Coach Nick Cushing said. “She has worked so hard to get to this moment and we’re excited to continue this journey together in Denver. and can’t wait to see everything she’ll accomplish in the years ahead.”
Lynch has been an important part of Cushing’s midfield, especially on the defensive end as she leads the clubs in interceptions (24), tackles won (23) and duels won (67) in 2026.
The Summit are currently in 10th place and only two points away from the final playoff spot. The expansion club faces a tough task for their next match which will be on the road against the Washington Spirit.
