We all know that the shocking death of his friend and Death Riders’ teammate Benjamin “PAC” Satterley had beaten Jon Moxley’s spirit nearly to submission. In-story, there was also his World title loss a night before PAC died. But we all knew what was really wearing on Mox tonight (Oct. 17) at WrestleDream.
After he
made his first PPV entrance since losing The Bastard, Mox faced The Don Callis Family’s Mark Davis. The big Aussie’s job in WrestleDream’s AEW Continental championship match was to beat the ever-loving crap out of Mox. He did it well.
It left the Death Riders’ leader questioning if he could go on. Marina Shafir repeated the mantra she’s said to him repeatedly over the past few weeks — there’s no way around it or under it, they have to go through it.
Which he did, finally making Davis pass out in a sleeper. Mox followed retaining with a cathartic outburst, then collapsed. His teammates picked him up and helped him out as Nigel McGuinness said, “sometimes you lead, and sometimes you are led”.
Powerful stuff, at least to this writer. Share your reaction in the comments.
