Well the start of the season has gone well for Missouri. And now the best part. We get to be 2-0, bask in the glow of a 17 point win over our most hated rival, and take in a full day of football without having to sweat out the results!
I want to scribble out some thoughts in a separate post, but it was certainly cathartic to watch the second half play out. No matter the circumstances (it did feel like Mizzou caused a lot of their own pain in the first half), Mizzou waltzed into Lawrence and swaggered
out with multiple possession win. And the game would have been even more of a blow out had the Tigers not gifted KU a touchdown due to poor field goal blocking.
But there are plenty of days to worry about what the Tigers can fix.
For now I’m just happy I don’t have to listen to Tim Brando and Devin Gardner again the rest of the year. So long Fox Sports Broadcasting, I won’t miss you.

With Cayden Green returning to the left tackle position, Mizzou’s offensive line looked much more settled against a feisty Jayhawks’ defense. Jamal Roberts busted a massive rushing score, Xai’Shaun Edwards added a score of his own, and the rushing attack improved to 4.3 yards per carry, a number that was closer to 5 before the Tigers started to grind down the clock. Add in the fact that Austin Simmons rarely looked in danger, and you’ve got yourselves a good performance for your first road game.

Multiple issues from the Tigers’ season opener again reared their ugly heads in week two.
The pass rush struggled to get home until the final few minutes, when they collected all four of their sacks. And MU’s offensive line failed to get push until later in the second half, also getting flagged for three false starts.
But Mizzou still found a way to go into its rival’s home stadium and secure a multi-score win.

Volleyball back on track
- After a loss to top 5 Louisville, Missouri found themselves at home against a prickly Arkansas State squad, and after a bumpy first set, they took care of business:
The Tigers dropped the opening set after hitting -.034, but coach Dawn Sullivan said her team cleaned things up and came together as the match progressed.
“I thought these girls battled and came together,” Sullivan said. “A lot of contributors out on the court. We didn’t start the cleanest, is what I’ll say. But then we were able to clean it up.”
Grace O’Reilly and Sierra Dudley provided a major spark for Mizzou in the new 6-2 system. O’Reilly finished with a team-high 13 kills, while Dudley added four kills and 36 assists after entering during the opening set and starting the final three.
Turns out a slow start but a dominating finish was just a Mizzou on Friday kind of thing. Sophie has another story on the Vball game coming this morning.
