After yet another sloppy showing, the Nationals are looking to avoid a sweep at the hands of the Yankees. Last night, they struggled with runners in scoring position and made some base running blunders. Hopefully they can play a clean game this afternoon.
With a lefty on the mound, the Nats are switching things up a bit. Andres Chaparro will get the start at first base. Miguel Cairo will give Riley Adams the start at DH, with the manager wanting to keep his hot bat in the lineup. Drew Millas will start behind
the plate. Luis Garcia Jr. will start even with a lefty on the mound. Cade Cavalli will get the start as the Nats look to salvage something.
With a righty on the mound, the Yankees will put Ben Rice and Jasson Dominguez back in the lineup. Ryan McMahon will also replace Amed Rosario at third base. Veteran Paul Goldschmidt will sit on the bench. As will last night’s hero Giancarlo Stanton, who can’t DH due to Aaron Judge’s elbow injury. Yankees ace Max Fried will be on the mound.

After a run of playing good ball, the Nats have fallen back into old habits here in the Bronx. Hopefully that can change this afternoon. However, a day game against a lefty has been a bad combination for the Nats. Hopefully today can be different.
