John Cena posted a cryptic message on social media ahead of his appearance on Cody Rhodes’ podcast.
On Instagram, Cena shared a photo of a broken roll of quarters with no caption. A reverse image search
shows the photo was uploaded to Getty Images in 2012 and later appeared in an article titled “Have Any $200 Quarters Lying Around? It’s Worth Checking Your Spare Change” in 2022.
Cena is only days removed from retiring as a professional wrestler after tapping out to Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event. So what does the post mean? Is he hinting that retirement has already left him broke and shaking a cup for spare change?
Or maybe Cena is simply signaling a trip to the laundromat — perhaps to wash the final pair of jorts he ever wore before turning them over to WWE for use at a future display. If that’s the case, it does raise one question: why doesn’t John Cena own a washer and dryer?
Whatever the meaning, fans won’t have to wait long for answers. Rhodes revealed Wednesday that Cena will appear on What Do You Wanna Talk About? with Cody Rhodes. The interview marks Cena’s first public comments since wrestling his final match.
Until then, the speculation is wide open.
So, have at it, Cagesiders — what do you think John Cena is saying? Sound off in the comments section.
