The Miami Dolphins were without their starting left guard — rookie Kadyn Proctor — on Sunday in a loss against the visiting New England Patriots due to a concussion the player suffered the week prior against the New York Jets. On Wednesday, Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley gave good news when updating Proctor’s status during his media availability.
Proctor is in the final stages of the NFL’s concussion protocol and, as such, practiced Wednesday without a red, non-contact jersey. If all goes well, and Miami’s
massive rookie remains symptom free following today’s session, he should clear the protocol by tomorrow and be available for Sunday’s home contest against the visiting Detroit Lions.
Miami’s offensive line struggled against New England on Sunday — although Proctor’s replacement, Jarrett Kingston, played decently well for a second-string player. Starting right guard, Jonah Savaiinaea, and starting center, Aaron Brewer, struggled with the Patriots’ defensive tackles, however. With Proctor likely factoring back into the mix, the Dolphins will look to get back to playing bully-ball up front against Detroit this weekend.
We will continue to keep you updated on all things Miami Dolphins as the club continues preparation for this Sunday’s game against Jared Goff, Aidan Hutchinson, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jahmyr Gibbs and the rest of the star-studded Lions roster.
