TCU football is moving closer to its 2026 season opener against North Carolina in Dublin, Ireland on Aug. 29. As the Countdown to Kickoff continues, we’ll highlight a former Horned Frog whose jersey number coincided with the number of days remaining until the opener. At No. 18 is former TCU wide receiver Jack Bech!
A transfer from LSU, Bech played sparingly in 2023 and became TCU’s No. 1 receiver during the 2024 season. At the time of his departure, Bech became the fifth player in program history
to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards during a single season. He finished the 2024 season with 62 catches for 1,034 yards and nine touchdowns and averaged 16.8 yards per reception. He was named a semifinalist for both the Biletnikoff Award and the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award as well as a Second-Team All-Big 12 recipient and a Phil Steele All-American Honorable Mention.
Bech, who played in 20 games over his two seasons in Fort Worth, was selected by the Las Vegas Raiders in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Bech made 16 appearances during his rookie season, catching 20 passes for 224 yards and averaging 11.2 yards per catch. Prior to TCU, Bech played two seasons at LSU. He led the Tigers in receptions (43) and posted 489 receiving yards and three touchdowns as a true freshman in 2021.
