Just about 36 hours after Juventus fired Igor Tudor, it looks like the club is closing in on his replacement.
According to Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio and TuttoJuve’s Mirko Di Natale, Juventus
are closing in on a deal to hire former Italy manager Luciano Spalletti as Tudor’s replacement. Spalletti, 66, is expected to sign a short-term contract through the remainder of the 2025-26 season, with an option for another season or two dependent on Juve’s Champions League qualification.
Juventus technical director François Modesto has also reportedly met with former Fiorentina manager Raffaele Palladino, somebody he has a working relationship with dating back to when both were at Monza. However, Palladino quickly became more of a second option once Spalletti emerged as the clear favorite in the clubhouse to take over for Tudor.
Spalletti could be officially hired as Juventus’ manager as early as Wednesday morning, with his attendance then expected for Juve’s home fixture against Udinese later in the day, which will be coached by Next Gen manager Massimo Brambilla. He would then be officially presented as manager on Thursday and take over for the weekend trip to Cremona to face Cremonese.
