The Tennessee Titans are going to have one of the most experienced coaching staffs in the NFL next year. Adam Schefter is reporting today that they have hired Gus Bradley as their defensive coordinator.
Bradley spent last season as the assistant head coach for the San Francisco 49ers. He has been a defensive coordinator at four stops before that. He was also the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2013 to 2016.
When the Titans hired Brian Callahan, the only coach on the staff who had been a head coach before was his daddy. Now, they have offensive and defensive coordinators who have been head coaches. Their special teams coordinator, John Fassel, even spent time as an interim head coach. Robert Saleh is surrounding himself with a lot of experienced coaches.
The Titans have spent the last year compiling a lot of experience in their building. It started last year in the front office, where Mike Borgonzi added multiple guys who had been general managers before. Now, they are doing the same thing with the coaching staff. It’s a good move for a young team that is trying to build a winning culture.
Now, let’s see it pay off on Sundays!
