Fans were in for a treat this week as Main Event featured appearances by two crowd favorites. Uncle Howdy wrestled for the first time in over a month, and Oba Femi strutted his way onto YouTube, showing off the strength and charisma that have made him an instant hit in WWE.
Oba Rules
The highlight of the show came midway through as Oba Femi faced the LWO’s Joaquin Wilde. This was largely a squash, with brief bursts of offense for Wilde between being tossed around like pizza dough.
Femi’s standout moment came
when he held Wilde in a delayed vertical suplex before shifting into a press slam, drawing awed reactions from the crowd. Wilde slipped free and mounted a short comeback, punctuated by a tornado DDT. Femi powered through, though, hurling him out of the corner and ending it with a Fall From Grace powerbomb.
Filmed Monday while WWE was in Memphis for Raw, the crowd was clearly familiar with “The Ruler,” chanting along and bouncing to his entrance music.
The Wyatts Say Howdy
Spearheaded by Uncle Howdy and Erick Rowan, the Wyatt Sicks began their march back toward the WWE Tag Team Championships in the opener against Los Garza’s Angel and Berto.
With former champs Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy watching alongside Nikki Cross, Los Garza threatened an upset, using crisp double team moves and quick strikes to isolate Rowan.
Chants of “We want Howdy” culminated in a hot tag to the Wyatts’ leader, who leveled Los Garza before planting Angel with a ura nage. Berto tried to retreat but turned into Rowan and froze, allowing Howdy to catch him with Sister Abigail for the pin.
Commentary talked up the Wyatts’ issues with reigning champs MFT, a feud that will likely see Howdy and Rowan leading the charge.
Raye of Light
The closing bout saw Ivy Nile provide on-the-job training to LFG Season 2 winner and NXT star Skylar Raye. Raye absorbed some heavy shots early, taking a face-first drop from a tombstone piledriver position. She fired back with a missile dropkick and tornado DDT, then hit a textbook flying body press, but Nile rolled through and finished her with a swinging ura nage.
The Final Bell
This may have been Main Event’s most revealing episode of 2026. Uncle Howdy’s rare in-ring appearance hints at a bigger role in his family’s quest for tag team gold.
Skylar Raye gained valuable experience opposite a veteran like Nile before a live crowd outside the Performance Center. It appears WWE sees upside in her despite fewer than 50 matches.
The star of the show, though, was Oba Femi, whose match was announced on social media just an hour before showtime. Responding to a fan amused by the appearance, Tom Pestock, formerly Baron Corbin, called it “reps” in front of a new crowd.
It was also another opportunity to showcase the former NXT Champion to fans. Since wrestling Cody Rhodes in December on Saturday Night’s Main Event, Femi has appeared on Raw, SmackDown, and a premium live event, entering first in this year’s men’s Royal Rumble. Thursday’s showing gave him further exposure, with highlights of his performance already circulating online.
Commentary played up Femi’s free-agent status days after his staredown with Rusev on Raw. Interestingly, Wilde serves as a link between Femi and Rusev. Before and after the Royal Rumble, he put Rusev over in two outings, with the Bulgarian Brute looking especially dominant in the rematch.
Overall, this was a fun 30 minutes that flew by. It may be tempting to tune out after “The Ruler,” but it’s worth staying for the rising Raye and Nile, Main Event’s queen.
