Kansas State is rolling — so far. But we all remember when a great season was nearly upended on this very weekend, in this very stadium, by this very team in 2022.
Thankfully for K-State, their opponent hasn’t been quite the same since that year, their own high-water mark in recent memory.
The Game
The Kansas State Wildcats (2-0) host the Tulane Green Wave (1-1, 0-0 American) for Harley Day.
This will be the fourth meeting all-time between the schools. Tulane leads the series 2-1, a 20-16 win in New Orleans
in 1988 and a 17-10 in in Manhattan in 2022 offset by K-State’s 34-27 win in New Orleans two years ago. This game is the final schedule contest in a 2-for-1 deal.
Both of those last two games were under different head coaches for the Green Wave — Willie Fritz, now at Houston, and Jon Sumrall, now at Florida. Yes, that means this will be a third Tulane head coach in three games, that being former Southern Mississippi head coach Will Hall.
Tulane had a tough 17-3 loss to Duke to open the season, but bounced back last week to take down South Alabama 28-24. Neither result should give the Green Wave optimism for Saturday’s contest.

Saturday, September 19, 11:00pm CT at Bill Snyder Family Stadium (50,000) in Manhattan, Kansas.

The game is officially sold out, with standing room only available through the ticket office. You can get in the door for as low as $31, and the median price is $56.
Weather
Tailgate weather will be in the high 70s, but by kickoff it should be 86° and into the low 90s before the final gun. The evening forecast calls for thunderstorms, but they’re not expected until well after the game. However, if the system moves more rapidly than expected, late-game lightning delays are a possibility.
Odds
Per our friends at DraftKings K-State is a 20.5-point favorite with a 49.5 over. That’s a sign of confidence in the Wildcat defense, and an expected outcome of 35-15 Cats. The money line is -1450 for the Cats, +850 for the Green Wave.
