The 2026 NFL season has already begun for some teams, while others will get going on Sunday. That includes the Dallas Cowboys who will wait all the way until Sunday night to take on the New York Giants on the road.
After an offseason and training camp that were fairly injury free, the Cowboys have received a double-whammy before their Week 1 game. Just yesterday, backup running back Malik Daviswent down with a serious hip injury that requires surgery.
Before that, the Cowboys lost their best offensive
lineman with guard Tyler Smith out at least four weeks to start the season. Obviously he’ll miss the Giants game and more after that.
In his place we’ll get reserve lineman T.J. Bass. He hass spent a few season with Dallas now and has earned a fair amount of trust with his play.
In fact, when we asked if you were confident that Bass could hold things together in the absence of Smith, 86% of Cowboys fans said yes, Bass would do just fine. His previous work starting for Dallas has won over the masses.
We also asked you if you were confident in the direction of the Cowboys heading into the season. There seems to be plenty of optimism based on all the changes and additions the Cowboys made this offseason. But does the Cowboys fanbase really feel confident in what the team is doing?
