Class of 2027 four-star athlete Braden Gordon has officially trimmed his list to five schools, and Kentucky remains firmly in the hunt. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound standout from Alabama announced that his finalists include Kentucky, Auburn, Florida, Miami (FL), and Georgia Tech, according to Chad Simmons of Rivals.
Kentucky is on the list after head coach Will Stein and his newly assembled staff extended an offer to Gordon back in January. Gordon plans to visit Kentucky on March 28 for a spring visit,
giving the Wildcats a chance to make an impression in person.
Gordon says he has Kentucky on his list because of the bond he has with assistant coach Tony Washington.
“The relationship me and Coach Washington have built and the constant communication,” Gordon tells Simmons of Rivals.
Known for his versatility, Gordon has drawn attention from programs across the country thanks to his size, athleticism, and ability to impact the game on both sides of the ball. For Kentucky, securing a spot in Gordon’s final group underscores the staff’s aggressive recruiting approach under Stein, who continues to expand the Wildcats’ reach in talent-rich states like Alabama.
With official visits and evaluations approaching, Kentucky will look to capitalize on Gordon’s March visit and the relationship with Coach Washington, hoping to land one of the most dynamic underclassmen in the 2027 class.
With Kentucky already having three commitments, two under Stein, it shows that the Wildcats are going all in on top recruits under the new coaching staff and aren’t afraid to compete with the nation’s big-name programs.
