Isaac Allen: 8/10
Couldn’t have done much with the Leicester goals but made some important second half saves, the first of which, with his legs from close range, was particularly good.
Rhys Walsh: 6/10
Played out of position at right back
and did a pretty good job, worked hard defensively and got forward when he could, including setting up Lewis Campbell for a shot on goal. Did switch off the second Leicester goal, letting a man steal in behind him to get a goal back.
Liam Hunt: 7/10
Dropped back into defence and put a good shift in. Used the ball well and was a good foil for Kindon.
Ben Kindon: 9/10
The only recognised defender in the back four and had to work really hard. Read the game superbly though, making plenty of blocks, tackles and interceptions.
Elias Lenz: 7/10
Patrolled in front of the back four, giving them some protection and kept things ticking on the ball. Had a chance from a free header in the box but had to generate the power himself and couldn’t get enough on it.
Jaydon Jones (C): 7/10
A solid display by today’s captain, tidy in midfield and worked hard out of possesion. Came close early on when he curled just wide from Dinsdale’s pass.
Charlie Dinsdale: 8/10
Visibly tired around the hour mark but was instrumental in the first half, being involved in both goals. First a good shot was saved for Proctor to score the rebound, then he set up Whittaker on the stroke of half time.
Jack Whittaker: 7/10
Scored a lovely goal on the stroke of half time when he pinged a shot inside the near post, then set up a good chance for Proctor in the second half.
Tom Proctor: 9/10
Scored twice and was very close to getting his hattrick. Followed up Dinsdale’s effort for the equaliser, then did really well to close down some loose passing at the back for Leicester to nip in and make it 3-1. Almost completed the hattrick but he thundered an effort off the bar.
Bayley Hester: 6/10
Struggled a bit at left back at times, giving too much room to the opposition. Stuck at it though and improved that as the game went on.
Marcus Neill: 6/10
Almost scored to make it 4-2 but after winning the ball high up, his shot was well saved by the visiting goalkeeper. Not much else to work with up top but worked hard and constantly tracked back.
Substitutes
Lewis Campbell: 6/10
Replaced Lenz and slotted in nicely, came close with a snapshot from the edge of the box that the goalkeeper did well to keep out.
Jay Brown: 6/10
Came on for the tiring Dinsdale and did OK.
Kay Munyakazi: N/A
A very late change as we saw the game out.
Arron Bowman: N/A
An injury time substitution.
Man of the Match: Tom Proctor
Was so unlucky not to get his hattrick, after he smashed a shot off the crossbar in the second half. Played in midfield but got into good positions often, getting two poachers goals as a result. First getting onto the end of a goalkeeper’s save and then closing down when Leicester were passing around at the back.
