The Commanders have reportedly signed outside linebacker Carlos “Boogie” Basham, the team announced before Tuesday’s training camp practice. He was one of several to workout for the Commanders on Monday.

The former Buffalo Bills second-round pick, back in 2021, has also played
for the New York Giants and Carolina Panthers over the past five seasons. All told, he has played in 43 games, with 61 tackles, 4.5 sacks and an interception to his credit.
The Roanoke, VA, native joins the team down the preseason’s final stretch, with the Commanders banged up at his position. Basham can put out some quality game tape and help Washington deal with injuries to Odafe Oweh and K’Lavon Chaisson.
He also played for the D.C. Defenders last season and had 24 tackles, three sacks and two forced fumbles
The Commanders will feature their first-team players heavily during the practice week, which ends with Wednesday’s joint practice at Baltimore and sets up Friday’s exhibition finale against the Ravens.
Then then team must form its initial 53-man roster by Sunday at 6 p.m. ET
