In the latest Rumor Roundup, word is that El Grande Americano will face El Hijo del Vikingo “in the near future.”
On Tuesday, AAA confirmed the two will meet soon — but they won’t be alone. Vikingo will face Americano and Dragon Lee on Sept. 27 in Mexico City. The match is part of AAA’s Alianza Tour, which will also feature the continuation of Dominik Mysterio’s Mega Championship celebration.
At Worlds Collide last Friday in Las Vegas, Americano’s interference in the AAA Mega Championship match between Vikingo and Mysterio cost Vikingo the title. While Vikingo has a score to settle, the addition of Dragon Lee adds another layer, as he also has an issue with Americano.
On Monday, Lee faced Americano in an exciting match on Raw that was marred by outside interference. Midway through, a second man wearing an Americano mask appeared, only to be stopped by AJ Styles. But moments later, a third masked figure blindsided Styles. Despite a strong effort, the odds were against Lee, who ultimately lost via submission.
With storylines colliding and Mysterio present, this triple threat could shape the future of AAA’s main event scene. It may also pave the way for the rumored Vikingo-Americano showdown.
