AEW produced an unexpected surprise during Collision (Oct. 25, 2025) when Nixon Newell (aka Tegan Nox) arrived on screen. Newell brought a partner for a tag team challenge.
The women’s tag team division
is beginning to blossom with the start of the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship tournament starting next week. The bracket is full, but that hasn’t stopped teams from stepping up for competition. That was the case for Newell and Miranda Alize.
Newell and Alize interrupted Tay Melo and Anna Jay backstage, and that led to a future match.
No official date has been set yet for this match.
Newell previously plied her craft in NXT and WWE from 2017 to 2024. She suffered multiple serious knee injuries during that run to hinder her progress. She also competed in several title matches, but she was unable to win gold. Newell had a handful of matches against Tay in NXT, thus the familiarity in the promo.
Alize is a veteran with one of her highest profile matches in the inaugural ROH Women’s World Championship tournament in 2021. Alize advanced to the finals in a losing effort to Rok-C (aka Roxanne Perez). She also had some matches in AEW, primarily on Dark and ROH TV.
Newell and Alize are a couple in real life.
