The Spurs future is exciting. The young team of budding future All-Stars (and one burgeoning mega superstar) has fans harkening back to the “good old days” of Spurs basketball.
Those good old days were
great — five titles in fifteen years, the winningest coach in NBA history, and the greatest power forward of all time.
That power forward is Tim Duncan.
Duncan, who managed to keep a low profile on and off court, often has his greatness overlooked as a result of not being “flashy” enough for NBA fans. Even his nickname, “Big Fun,” is a reference to fundamentals as opposed to merriment or amusement.
So, it came a surprise to many to discover that Duncan is the subject of an upcoming documentary.
“The Boy from St. Croix” is premiere at the 32nd Austin Film Festival which runs October 23-30.
The retrospective, filmed by his brother Scott, released a trailer this week.
As one can tell, the elder Duncan brother has skills. He’s been involved with Emmy Award-winning films, and created content for the World Cup, the Olympics and television shows.
For now, the trailer will have to do, but by the end of the month we’ll all be clamoring for its full-length counterpart.
