While the Orange football season kicks off this Saturday, there have been other Fall sports who have started, with two more opening up this week.
Let’s get to this week’s Olympic Sports round-up:

The Orange open up their season at home on Friday night against Lock Haven. They will welcome Fairfield to Coyne Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Syracuse was picked 5th in the pre-season ACC poll with Bo van Kempen selected to the All-ACC squad
Women’s Soccer
Since our last update, the Orange have won
two straight games. They shut out Canisius 4-0 and won at Holy Cross 3-1. Ashley Rauch leads Syracuse with four goals while Shea Vanderbosch has played all but one half in goal, allowing only 3 goals so far.
Syracuse will stay on the road to face Quinnipiac and Princeton this week.
Men’s Soccer
After dropping a tough 1-0 loss to UConn, the Orange went on the road and knocked off Loyola (MD) 1-0 behind a goal from Tim Brdaric.
Syracuse will host Penn State on Thursday night.
Volleyball
Syracuse will host Niagara, Rider, and LeMoyne this weekend in the Salt City Classic. The Orange were picked 17th in the pre-season ACC poll just ahead of Virginia Tech.

The pre-season ACC poll is out and the Orange men were picked 6th while the women were ranked 10th. Wake Forest men and NC State women held the top spots. The Orange will race this weekend with a pre-season meet at Colgate.
