Happy New Year folks! I’m kicking off 2026 by forgetting that it was a Thursday and almost missing today’s Daily Bee (having also missed Tuesday’s). My resolution for this year is to forget the Daily Bee about
as often as I did in 2025. Maybe a little more. Maybe even a little less?
BVB News
- Pascal Groß is heading back to the seaside after Borussia Dortmund and Brighton agreed a deal worth €3m to send the 34-year-old back to the club where he enjoyed the best years of his career.
- It has not yet been decided whether Dortmund will bring in midfield reinforcements this month, in response to Groß’s departure.
- SV Elversberg are interested in bringing in BVB’s Cole Campbell on loan for the rest of the season.
Bundesliga News
- Bayern Munich are cutting short goalkeeper Daniel Peretz’s loan to Hamburger SV, due to lack of playing time, in order to send him to Southampton.
- Borussia Mönchengladbach are keen to bring in Hertha Berlin’s Linus Gechter and Tjark Ernst.
- FC Koln are in negotiations with Manchester City to secure a loan move for 20-year-old centre-back Jahmai Simpson-Pusey
