The NWSL teams are returning to action this week, and the Rose City club broke news this Tuesday when they announced a trade involving them and the NJ/NY club. The Thorns have acquired an international roster spot from Gotham FC in exchange for $15,000 in allocation money.
With this trade, Portland has eight international roster slots, with seven out of them occupied by Australian
goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold, Danish defender Isabella Obaze, German defender Marie Müller, Canadian midfielder Jessie Fleming, Norwegian midfielder Cassandra Bogere, Canadian forward Mimi Alidou and French forward Julie Dufour. Regarding Dufour, we have to remember she’s on the season-ending injury list, and she will occupy her spot once she returns.
The Thorns will be back in action next Sunday, April 26, when they play Angel City at BMO Stadium.
