Yes, that’s how we start this segment. An icon in every sense of the word.
With 322 career goals, the Italian football legend and former Bayern Munich star is the fourth most prolific scorer his nation has ever produced. He’s won pretty much every individual award as a striker and had a massive role in Italy’s 2006 World Cup win. So yes, the striker role is his bread and butter.
Luca was at the presentation ceremony for the European Golden Boot 2025/26. A trophy won by none other than another
Bayern Munich striker… (Sir?) Harry Edward Kane.
During the presentation ceremony, Luca had a couple of iconic things to say (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), with him first requesting Kane to “please stop breaking all our records”. For context, no player outside of Lionel Messi has EVER scored more goals in a single season. 73 goals for club and country, with a whopping 61 (!!!) goals for Bayern Munich last season.
Bayern fans certainly want this to continue.
Most importantly, Luca is aboard the Kane Ballon d’Or 2026 hype train. “You deserve to win the Ballon d’Or,” concluded the former striker.
Heck, a mic drop would’ve been perfect. But yes, there you have it. Yet another icon voicing his support for Kane’s Ballon d’Or bid. Sure, the award has been a scam for a while now, but surely 81 goal contributions in a single season gets the job done? SURELY???!!!
