After two disappointing results in a row, and with two weeks left in the 2025 NFL season, the Green Bay Packers are still in a promising position in the NFC playoff race. Sitting just behind the Chicago
Bears in the NFC North, Green Bay has not clinched its postseason berth yet, but the most likely outcome still appears to be a wild-card spot.
The Bears control the division and have an edge, but if Green Bay wins out and Chicago drops its final two games, the division would belong to the Packers. While possible, that scenario doesn’t feel incredibly likely.
But even if Green Bay falls short of the division crown, they’re still favored to claim a wild-card spot thanks to their overall record and tiebreaker advantages. The key will be staying disciplined against the Baltimore Ravens this weekend and taking care of business. A victory over the Ravens would clinch a postseason berth regardless of other results. Alternatively, a Lions loss this Sunday makes a Packers playoff berth a near certainty before Green Bay even takes the field.
While the Packers are quite injury rattled and there’s doubt about how far they can take a playoff run, I’d implore you on this Christmas Day to avoid cynicism and simply enjoy the football. Meaningful January football is a gift many fanbases don’t get. And, if you’re good boys and girls, you may get a bonus gift in a few weeks: a Packers vs Bears playoff rematch.
