The war of words between Shakur Stevenson and Tim Bradley continues to roll on as Bradley couldn’t help but make a public rebuttal to Stevenson after he recently made comments denigrating his career accomplishments. So, Bradley gives his response here, with some highlighted excerpts below.
“Yeah, you may have more money than me but it’s completely irrelevant to what I said about you,” Bradley said. “That’s what I don’t understand about Shakur Stevenson. I don’t understand why he even went down that
lane. I hurt you that bad, big dog?…He called me a bum — okay, I’m a bum — but he said Ray Robinson is buns…I can’t even take this dude seriously. I can’t.
“You sit there and you saying you don’t know how I became into the Hall of Fame and all this stuff. Let me educate you a little bit, bro. I sat where you sitting right now on the pound-for-pound. You’re at #3. But no knock on the guys that’s above you right now, those are helluva fighters, okay, Inoue, Usyk — helluva fighters. They not Manny Pacquiao and they not Floyd Mayweather. No.
I sat at #3. Little ol’ me. Now, you might look at my film and you go ‘oh, he’s sorry’ and you go put yourself in the ring with me and you see what you think you can do. But like, man…I didn’t just get in one Hall of Fame, I got in three Hall of Fames. That means my peers and the elders, the ones what watch generations after generations — they watched me get down. They got me in the Hall of Fame.
“I even won awards in Britain. I’m not even from Britain. 2008, go ahead and research it, bro. Fight of the Year, you’ll never see, ever. You probably never want to because styles are different, big dog. No, I didn’t put people to sleep, but I didn’t put people to sleep.”
