Those Chelsea players not involved with their respective international teams, as well as those who aren’t taking some much needed time off to rest and recuperate a bit (i.e. the likes of Enzo Fernández and Pedro Neto), were back at Cobham yesterday for some mid-international-break training.
And, as confirmed on the Chelsea official website, among those involved was not only a certain Axel Disasi, but as well as one Benoît Badiashile. This feels almost like a throwback.
Disasi’s involvement is likely
to be temporary, but hopefully the same won’t be the case for Badiashile, who’s been dealing with multiple injuries over the past several months. His last comeback attempt, about six weeks ago, ended in a swift return to the injured list after just a couple appearances. So hopefully his return will be a bit more lasting this time.
Badiashile featured mostly in the Conference League last season, but it feels like the center back positions are up for grabs this season — both due to injuries, as well as performances on the pitch — so Badiashile could find himself some opportunities … if he can stay fit.
