Every year, SB Nation tracks NFL fans’ confidence levels of their favorite teams with weekly Reacts Surveys posted at their team websites. For Pride of Detroit, we are tasked with gauging Detroit Lions
fans’ confidence in the team heading into each game.
For most of 2024, Lions fans were extremely confident in the team, logging confidence levels of 95-99% in the majority of our weekly polls. This season, we opened up with 94%, as expected, but their Week 1 loss to the Packers saw confidence plummet to 53%. Since then, the Lions have gone on a three-game win streak, amassing 124 points over that time. Over that time, we’ve seen confidence levels rise to 85% after a win over the Bears, followed by a huge jump to 99% following their win over the Ravens.

With another win (Week 4 over the Browns) under their belt, they enter Week 5 as 9.5-point favorites over the Cincinnati Bengals. While some teams are still trying to find their identity or scrambling to avoid falling too far behind, the Lions are fully hitting their stride, and coach Dan Campbell is very pleased with how his team has responded to adversity.
“That’s our resiliency,” Campbell responded when asked what he was most proud of his team. “We don’t get caught up in things that don’t relate to us or have any bearing on what we control, if you will. Man, our guys stay locked in on what it takes to win a game. […] We have a very resilient bunch, and the core of our team is very strong, it’s very strong.”
Now, heading into Week 5 with a battle against the Burrow-less Bengals next up on the docket, it’s once again time to vote.
Throughout the year, we ask questions of the most plugged-in Detroit Lions fans and fans across the country. If you want to get these surveys emailed to you weekly, sign up here.
