Could Aleksandar Pavlović and Tom Bischof eventually become Bayern Munich’s midfield partnership of the future?
Bischof certainly seems to enjoy playing alongside his fellow young midfielder. Following Bayern’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal in the Champions League, the 20-year-old was asked whether the pair could form Vincent Kompany’s preferred double pivot in the years to come.
“I enjoy a lot playing with Pavlo. But we all know what a player Jo [Kimmich] is. In the end, Vinnie decides who plays. I’m just
happy when I’m on the pitch and when I get my minutes. We’ll see what the future brings,” Bischof told Bluesport (via @iMiaSanMia).
The former Hoffenheim midfielder has made a promising impression since joining Bayern Munich, demonstrating his versatility, composure, and willingness to take responsibility in the middle of the park. His performance against Arsenal offered another glimpse of what he could bring to the team alongside Pavlović.
However, displacing Joshua Kimmich is another matter entirely. The experienced German international remains a key figure for Bayern, and Bischof was quick to acknowledge the quality of his teammate while leaving the selection decisions to Kompany.
Bayern supporters have plenty of reasons to be excited about the club’s midfield future. Pavlović has already established himself as an important option, while Bischof offers another talented young player capable of developing into a regular starter.
Whether they eventually become the preferred pairing remains to be seen, but the potential is certainly intriguing. For now, Bischof appears happy to take his opportunities and let his performances do the talking.
