Becky Lynch has been doing some career-best work in her new under-appreciated legend heel gimmick, and she seems especially energized to be working in Ireland and the United Kingdom these past few days.
For example… on Raw yesterday (Aug. 25) in Birmingham, England, The Man put off her Intercontinental title defense against Nikki Bella until Clash in Paris. Her reason?
“Because I am not wrestling in Birmingham. The only good thing that came outta here died a month ago. But in fairness to Ozzy Osbourne he had the good sense to move to L.A. — a proper city. Because if I lived I Birmingham I’d die too!”
It got several “ooooh”s from the locals, and played perfectly into Bella’s argument that this version of Bex is a classless [bleep]. It did not play well with the daughter of Hall of Famer Ozzy Osbourne. Kelly Osbourne caught wind of it via a Lynch fan account, and posted this in response on her Instagram Story:

[Becky Lynch] you are a disrespectful dirtbag! Birmingham would not piss on you if you were on fire. #birminghamforever shame on the [WWE] for allowing such things to be said about my father and his home!!!
It can’t be fun to hear you recently deceased father’s name used for pro wrestling heat, especially when you weren’t expecting it to show up on your timeline. This is something that probably could have been avoided with a phone call or even a text message to Ozzy & Sharon’s middle child, and any other Osbournes or Ozzy-associated types in Ari Emanuel, Nick Khan or Paul Levesque’s extensive contact lists. Hopefully, it’s something that can be smoothed over by WWE and Lynch pretty quickly.
What’s your take on this, Cagesiders?
