NFL Rookies Who Could Emerge as Surprise Starters in 2026 | Bleacher Report
WR Malachi Fields, New York Giants. Malachi Fields was considered a solid second-round option heading into April’s draft. While he didn’t post huge numbers during his final season on campus, the near-6’5″, 218-pound target dominated at the Senior Bowl. Because of Field’s frame, ball-winning traits and blocking on the outside, the rookie adds an immediate skill set to the Giants’ offense that’s largely missing from the rest of the group. Specifically, he can be an instant
red-zone threat and security blanket on critical downs.
Nabers will treated as the Giants’ WR1 whenever he’s cleared to return. Plenty must still be decided withing the rest of the group. Though it’s difficult to envision Fields not be a big part of the team’s plans this season considering the potential to move past the majority of the group after the upcoming campaign.

Jaxson Dart enters Year 2. Jaxson Dart didn’t start until Week 4 last year and, like most young players with talent, he produced some fun highs and some not-so-fun lows, the latter of which included several hard hits taken and one concussion sustained. Dart, in a new offense under Matt Nagy, will look to improve his accuracy, be more cognizant of what hits he can and can’t take and, ultimately, get the John Harbaugh era going in a positive direction.
Giants’ Jameis Winston: John Harbaugh is best coach I’ve been around | USAToday.com
Winston was recently asked for his thoughts on playing under Harbaugh, and the veteran described the Giants’ head coach as the most impressive one he has ever played for.
“He has truly been the most impressive head coach I’ve been around, and I was with Sean Payton, I had Lovie Smith and Bruce Arians,” Winston said on Giants Huddle. “It has truly been a treat to serve him and align our mission to win a Super Bowl.”

Secondary coach Donald D’Alesiosaid Nubin dealt with confidence issues in 2025.
“Confidence is a crazy thing in this league,” he said. “When you have it, you have it. When you don’t, it’s tough. He’s comfortable in the [new] system, and I think we’re going to use him in ways that are going to benefit his game…When there are some bad plays, if you don’t stop the snowball effect, then that’s when it really starts to happen. That’s been a point of emphasis with him: If you make a bad play, brush it off, get ready, go to the next play and let’s roll.”
Giants’ Offensive Line Makeover Could Cost Jake Kubas His Roster Spot | SI.com
If there’s one thing we’ve noticed about the changes this New York Giants offense wanted to see under new head coach John Harbaugh, it’s the type of offensive lineman the team wanted to attack in the draft and in free agency. Many would say the term “bigger is better” applies to this regime’s offensive line goals.
That makes little old 6-foot-4, 308-pound Jake Kubas look as if he is out of place amongst the giant redwood trees that now occupy the interior of the Giants’ offensive line. This will make it much more difficult for him to find a home on the active roster, knowing that the Giants have a type and he does not fit it.
