UFC Vegas 110 went down last night (Sat., Nov. 1, 2025) inside UFC Apex, which saw Steve Garcia earn a first-round technical knockout (TKO) win over David Onama in the main event of the evening (see it again here). In the co-main event, Waldo Cortes-Acosta pulled off a nice come-from-behind win over Ante Delija, also in the very first round (highlights here).
Biggest Winner: Waldo Cortes-Acosta
Just as it looked as if “Salsa Boy” was on his way out in the very first round, an inadvertent eye poke on the part
of the former PFL Heavyweight champion gave Cortes-Acosta the much-needed break in the fight to get his head back in the game after being on the wrong end of a flurry of strikes. Once the action resumed, the Dominican Heavyweight flipped the script and started delivering the heavy shots, eventually dropping and then finishing Delija to complete the comeback victory. With the win, Cortes-Acosta gets his hand raised in victory once again following his loss to Sergei Pavlovich, putting him at 6-1 in his last seven fights. He also earned a cool $50,000 bonus for his troubles.
Runner Up: Steve Garcia
The only reason Garcia didn’t get the top spot this week is for the sheer fact that Cortes-Acosta came back from the dead to get the win. Nevertheless, Garcia’s TKO win over Onama is huge for his career because it will likely put him into the Top 10. He has now won seven straights fights since 2022 and improves his overall UFC record to 8-2, with seven of this wins coming by way of KO/TKO. If he keeps up this type of work he could be creeping into the Top 5 sooner, rather than later, and championship consideration will not be too far off. He also earned his fourth “Performance of the Night” bonus award.
Biggest Loser (s): Ante Delija, Themba Gorimbo and Montserrat Ruiz
We are going to flip the script here and for the first time ever go with three big losers from last night. That’s because all lost in a big way for their own reasons. For Ruiz, she came in needed a win in the worst way after dropping her last three. Once the dust settled in her fight against Alice Ardelean she had dropped her fourth straight, which means she may not be on the UFC roster much longer. As for Gorimbo, things went from bad to worse for him following a report accusing him of scamming money from donations that were intended to build water wells in his Zimbabwe village. That’s because he suffered his second straight defeat after losing a unanimous decision to Jeremiah Wells. And finally, Delija had what seemed to be a sure-fire victory snatched from his grasp by Waldo Cortes-Acosta, who knocked him out in the first round in what proved to be a great come-from behind win. The loss is crucial for Delija because he was hoping to inch closer to the Top 5 with a win, now he will likely drop down further.
