The Pittsburgh Steelers have expressed interest in trading for Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs, per Jordan Schultz.
“WR Josh Downs has received interest from multiple AFC teams, including the Steelers,” Schultz reports. “And while a deal is not considered likely this week, the expectation is a trade will eventually happen, per sources.”
Downs requested a trade from the Colts on Wednesday. This comes after Indianapolis traded All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson and Pro Bowl defensive lineman DeForest Buckner on Tuesday.
Should Downs end up in Pittsburgh, he would become the second Colts pass-catcher to be traded to the Steelers this year. Pittsburgh traded for Michael Pittman Jr on the first day of the new league year in March.
Downs has 26 receptions for 307 yards this season. In 2025, he compiled 58 catches for 566 yards and four scores. His best season came back in 2024 where he hauled in 72 catches for 803 yards and five touchdowns.
