Bayern Munich Frauen star Len Oberdorf has unluckiest weekend of anyone as she suffered the second ACL tear of her right knee. This most recent injury will end her season.
Bayern Munich’s club website issued
a release on the injury:
Lena Oberdorf tore the cruciate ligament in her right knee in FC Bayern Women’s Bundesliga game against Köln, as confirmed following an examination on Monday. The 23-year-midfielder will have an operation on Tuesday and be out of action for several months. It’s her second cruciate ligament tear in her right knee, having also suffered the injury in 2024.
Bianca Rech, director of women’s football seemed as devastates as many fans were to hear the medical report.
“This news hits us all very hard and we feel for Lena. She worked tirelessly and with great desire to come back after her first injury. To now face a second such setback is incredibly hard. We are fully by Lena’s side, will support her as best we can in her recovery and be there for her in every way,” Rech said.
Obviously, this is horrible news and Oberdorf has already been through so much physically. Hopefully, her recovery will be smooth, but she does have a long road ahead.
